This business unit focuses on electronic assemblies, systems and software for the US military including advanced instrumentation and control systems that are not only used in Naval propulsion systems but also other Navy subsystems./ph3The Opportunity | Quality Assurance Manager/h3pThe Quality Assurance Manager leads and oversees the quality assurance and quality control departments for Peerless Instrument, a Curtiss-Wright Company, reporting directly to the General Manager. This role ensures the effective implementation and continual improvement of the companys quality management system, drives compliance with defense quality standards, and ensures high levels of product quality and customer satisfaction. The Quality Assurance Manager acts as a key quality leader interfacing with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement best practices./ppSalary Information: $130,000 – $150,100/ppPlease note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in New York. Criteria such as the candidates qualifications and relevant experience, the scope of the specific position, as well as market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer./ppLocation: Farmingdale, NY/ph3Your Challenge/h3ulliDevelop and lead quality assurance teams, coaching quality engineers and inspectors, and fostering accountability and technical excellence./liliOversee the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), consistent with AS9100 and other applicable standards (e.g., MIL-SPEC, IPC)./liliEnsure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements across design, manufacturing, and service operations./liliEnsure timely and effective responses to Internal Corrective Actions Requests (ICARs) and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs)./liliEnsure control of nonconforming material, Material Review Board (MRB) processes, and product disposition./liliPartner with Manufacturing and Engineering to support process control FAI/AS9102, and configuration management./liliOversee Inspection, Test, and acceptance activities for manufacturing products./liliPlan, execute, and manage internal quality audits and support external supplier assessments./liliServe as the management representative for certification activities where required./liliLead investigations into customer quality issues, root cause analysis (using structured methods such as 5 Whys, 8D), and corrective/preventive actions./liliManage customer feedback and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) with timely and effective resolution./liliOversee supplier quality performance, assessments, and improvement plan./liliManage supplier quality performance, audits, and improvement initiatives./liliEnsure proper quality flow-down of contractual, regulatory, and technical requirements to suppliers and subcontractors./liliDrive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, SPC and data driven methodologies./liliMonitor quality KPIs including defect rates, Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), on-time delivery impact, and audit performance./liliPromote a culture of quality, accountability, and compliance across the organization./liliFoster cross-functional collaboration and quality ownership through the business./liliPartner with supply chain and procurement on quality flow-downs and supplier monitoring./liliWork closely with engineering, Production, Operations, and Contracts to ensure quality requirements are integrated into program and product./liliRepresent quality goals and metrics in business reviews and strategic discussions./liliConduct monthly management meetings with upper management to review monthly metrics in Peerless and Supplier quality and delivery performance./li/ulh3Your Expertise/h3ulliStrong working knowledge of AS9100, MIL-STD/MIL-SPEC, DFARS, ITAR and defense contracting requirements./liliExpertise in root cause analysis, CAPA, MRB, FAI (AS9102), SPC, and audit management./liliAbility to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contractual quality clauses./liliExcellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills./liliAbility to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously./liliAbility to work well in multi-disciplinary teams./liliKnowledge of manufacturing and test processes and ability to work well with Production Control, Manufacturing Engineers, Manufacturing Operators and Test personnel./liliAbility to interface with and provide technical support to subcontractors, suppliers, and customers./liliBachelors degree in engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related technical discipline required/liliA minimum of 7-10 years of quality experience in defense, or highly regulated manufacturing./liliPrior leadership experience within a quality organization required./liliExperience working directly with government customers and prime contractors preferred./liliAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance/liliMust be a U.S Citizen/li/ul/div
