R&D Senior Scientist – Devon – Up to £48,000 pa + Benefits – REF 052

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a global medical device company at the forefront of innovation, developing next-generation cutting-edge products. The organisation has a strong international presence with R&D and manufacturing hubs across the UK and Europe, supplying products globally and maintaining a focus on innovation, quality, and patient safety.

This role will actively contribute to the innovation, development, and characterisation of new and existing products. You will have hands-on involvement in laboratory work, prototype development, and analytical method design, while working closely with multidisciplinary teams including R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial functions.

Skills & Experience Needed:

* Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Polymer Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biomaterials, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicinal Chemistry, or a closely related field.

* Hands-on experience in developing products within regulated industries such as medical devices or pharmaceuticals.

* Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and relevant regulatory standards for medical devices.

* Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

* Proven track record of working effectively within multidisciplinary teams and collaborative environments.

* Experience with experimental design, method development, and data interpretation in laboratory settings.
