The Science Team at Russell Tobin is supporting a world-class organization that has an opening for “Scientist I – Gene Therapy”
Key Responsibilities
- Perform analytical testing under the guidance of senior Analytical Scientists to quantify lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) encapsulating nucleic acids
- Conduct analysis of raw materials used in LNP formulations
- Correlate physicochemical properties of experimental nanoparticle formulations with their efficacy and safety profiles
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and well-organized laboratory records and documentation
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Support general laboratory operations, including supply ordering, instrument calibration, and scheduling maintenance activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific field
- 0–2 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 2+ years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in buffer formulation
- Hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as RiboGreen assay, Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), and Zeta potential measurements
- Experience with High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
- Additional analytical laboratory experience is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
- Experience with data analysis tools such as GraphPad Prism or JMP is desirable
Additional Information
Pay Rate: $40–45/hour
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: San Diego, CA 92111
Duration: 6 months contract
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
