Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Associate Scientist for an Onsite position with a Global Biotechnology Company located in Thousand Oaks, CA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

 

The ideal candidate is a BS- or MS-level scientist with hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, recombinant protein expression, and strong aseptic technique. This role involves contributing to production pipeline work in a fast-paced, lab-based environment. Candidates should have practical lab experience with CHO or similar systems and be able to learn quickly and collaborate effectively. The core hours for this position will be 10am -4pm.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform experiments, organize data, and analyze results under minimal supervision
  • Plan, conduct, or monitor experiments, and provide interpretation of data
  • Produce mAb-like molecules in a stable CHO expression system at various scales
  • Use automation to transfect and passage large numbers of productions
  • Utilize a database system for electronic management of productions and generating ELN documentation
  • Measure harvest titers and maintain aseptic technique
  • Coordinate with upstream and downstream teams to adhere to tight timelines

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience OR Master's degree and up to 1 year of relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience with recombinant protein expression
  • Direct experience with CHO or HEK cell cultures
  • Strong aseptic technique and tissue culture experience
  • Experience in a Biopharmaceutical working environment
  • Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or Analytical Chemistry
  • Must be able to work 100% onsite
  • Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) employees will be considered for this position.

 

Desired skills:

  • Experience with automated liquid handlers

 

Pay range: $30.09 – $33.43 per Hour
