Here you will enjoy a proper mix of cases — dogs, cats, exotics, birds, reptiles, possums, kangaroo’s and goats. With the nearest specialist a couple of hours away, you'll actually get to be the vet. Work cases up properly. Use the kit. Make the call. This place has a real ‘family feel’ about it, where everyone pulls together when there’s work, and relaxes when it’s time.
The clinic is well set up, digital and dental X-ray, ultrasound, IM3 dental suite, full IDEXX in-house lab, with great nurses, and a practice manager who keeps everything in order.
The Role
* 27 hrs per week (with some flexibility needed)
* $70/hr + super. 4 weeks hols – prorated.
* 1 weekend in 3–4 (not every single one)
* On-call Wed nights + 1 in 6–7 weekends
* 50% of professional fees after hours
* 2–3 vets on weekdays — you're not alone
Clinical Exposure & Development
* Predominantly dogs and cats, with regular exposure to exotics (birds, reptiles, small mammals)
* Wildlife cases and occasional small ruminants and pigs
* Wide case mix from routine consults to snake bites, tick paralysis and heartworm
* Opportunity to work up cases thoroughly due to limited nearby referral options
* Access to CT within 1.5 hours for advanced imaging where needed
* Strong scope to develop medical and surgical skills (orthopaedics a bonus)
* Potential to expand into large animal/farm work in future

Great sporting clubs, good schools, parks and everything you need day-to-day, without the traffic or the city noise.Bundaberg is 1.5 hours away, the Sunshine Coast a couple of hours south, and Brisbane 3.5 hours when you need a proper city fix. There's even a local airport to make the getaways easy. It’s big enough to keep life interesting. Relaxed enough to actually enjoy it
