Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a MCS Associate Quality Control for an Onsite position with a Global Biotechnology Company located in Thousand Oaks, CA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work within Quality Control, directly supporting both manufacturing and QC operations. The role involves analyzing environmental monitoring samples, cross-checking sample requirements against SOPs, and entering results into a laboratory information management system (LIMS). This position will work in a team environment, collaborating within the lab and with various colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Align with safety guidelines from EHSS, cGMPs, and other applicable regulatory requirements
  • Adhere to good documentation practices and complete all required training
  • Work with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and/or SmartLab (LMES) with efficiency and accuracy
  • Manage and coordinate all assigned tasks and effectively complete all expected deliverables in a timely manner
  • Ensure equipment preventive maintenance is performed per requirements and by the due date
  • Participate in the investigation of out-of-specification and/or non-conforming test results
  • Support internal and external inspections and audits as needed (lab preparation, data retrieval, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot, solve problems, and communicate with relevant team members
  • Perform QC Support tasks such as organization and cleaning of the lab, checking expired media, archiving documentation, and preliminary plate readings
  • Support Microbiology lab with analytical testing (pipetting, water testing, observing colonies on Agar plates)
  • Must be willing to work an on-site Monday-Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) work schedule and be flexible for possible weekend and vacation work based on business needs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline such as Life Sciences and one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • Background in biology and benchwork experience
  • Exposure to GMP and Aseptic technique
  • Ability to frequently sit, grasp lightly, use fine hand manipulation, perform desk-based computer tasks, and lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 15 pounds
  • Must perform tasks that require the use of personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses and shoes, lab coats, and gloves

Desired skills:

  • GxP experience, specifically practices and requirements in the testing of biopharmaceuticals
  • Experience using various QC systems such as CDOCS (Veeva Vault), LIMS and/or SmartLab (LMES)
  • Experience and knowledge of Data Integrity Requirements in QC systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail
  • Experience of collaboration within and across functional areas
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and organizational skills

Pay range: up to $29.58 per hour
