Job Description:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled BWR Chemistry Systems Engineer to work with a team of Engineers and Chemists, supporting plant design and chemistry systems related to or affected by water chemistry.
  • This role involves creating and updating design documentation and drawings for chemistry hardware systems, performing technical evaluations, and developing PLC programs.
  • The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of BWR water chemistry, chemistry system products, and experience in plant chemistry control programs.

Requirement/Must Have:

  • B.S. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a similar discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in chemistry or chemistry-related activities.
  • Strong knowledge of BWR water chemistry and related systems.
  • Experience with the development of PLC programs using Proficy Machine Edition.
  • Familiarity with operator interface unit development using Wonderware software by Aveva.
  • Ability to create and revise P&ID, assembly drawings, BOM, and electrical drawings.
  • Experience in developing software specifications and logic diagrams for PLC programs.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in chemistry-related roles, specifically in water chemistry for BWR plants.
  • Familiarity with BWR plant chemistry control programs and operational experience.
  • Experience in chemistry laboratory design and working with radioactive materials in radiologically controlled areas.
  • Proven track record in BWR chemistry sampling and monitoring strategies.

Responsibilities or Duties:

  • Collaborate with Engineers and Chemists to design and support chemistry systems in the plant, ensuring proper water chemistry management.
  • Create and revise design documentation, including P&ID, assembly drawings, BOM, and electrical drawings.
  • Perform technical evaluations, analyses, and verifications related to BWR chemistry.
  • Develop, modify, and convert PLC programs using Proficy Machine Edition (different Windows versions and logic changes).
  • Develop human-machine interface (HMI) touchscreen applications using Wonderware software by Aveva.
  • Create software specifications and logic diagrams for PLC program development.
  • Provide expertise in BWR chemistry operational processes, including water chemistry system design and chemistry laboratory setup.
  • Support the INPO assessment for the development and oversight of chemistry performance indicator programs.

Should Have:

  • Knowledge of various chemistry system products, such as OLNC, HWC, and Zinc Injection skid.
  • In-depth experience with BWR plant chemistry control programs and their implementation.
  • Experience working in radiologically controlled areas handling radioactive materials.
  • Familiarity with BWR & PWR chemistry issues.

Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge of BWR water chemistry systems and design.
  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining technical drawings and documentation (P&ID, BOM, electrical).
  • Experience with PLC program development and modifications using Proficy Machine Edition.
  • Proficiency in developing HMI systems using Wonderware software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform technical analyses in the field of BWR chemistry.

Qualification or Education:

  • B.S. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in chemistry or related fields, with a focus on BWR water chemistry.
