About the Role
We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to lead and oversee the operations of a molecular diagnostics laboratory. This role focuses on regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and the performance of high-complexity Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) tests. The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to mentor and manage laboratory staff. As a leader, you will ensure adherence to laboratory regulations, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to the growth and success of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with all relevant laboratory regulations and ensure staff adherence to policies and protocols.
Quality Control and Assurance: Oversee the QA process by reviewing test results, ensuring documentation meets high standards, and addressing any deviations.
Molecular Diagnostics: Conduct and supervise NGS testing, including nucleic acid extraction, DNA library preparation, and data analysis following established protocols.
Team Leadership: Manage staff scheduling, performance, and training to ensure operational efficiency and competency across the team.
Problem Solving: Lead investigations for non-conformances or deviations, implement corrective actions, and monitor their effectiveness.
Laboratory Operations: Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, develop and update SOPs, and ensure accurate record-keeping in the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
Safety and Environment: Ensure a safe working environment by complying with health and safety guidelines and maintaining laboratory cleanliness.
Qualifications:
Valid Supervisor License in Molecular Pathology from the appropriate licensing board.
A minimum of three years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor in a high-complexity setting.
Certification in Molecular Biology (e.g., MB (ASCP) or equivalent).
Expertise in laboratory operations, safety practices, and regulatory requirements (e.g., CLIA, CAP).
Hands-on experience with NGS technologies and molecular diagnostic procedures.
Educational qualifications: PhD, Masters, or Bachelors in a relevant scientific field, with experience as a molecular technologist.
Proficiency with laboratory management systems and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing and implementing training programs for laboratory personnel.
Proven ability to identify trends in laboratory metrics and propose actionable improvements.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills for both team management and compliance reporting.
Prior involvement in the development and refinement of laboratory protocols and workflows.
