Quality Control Manager, Traveling
Blinderman Construction is looking for an experienced Quality Control Manager to join our Federal Program. The Quality Control Manager, Traveling is responsible for developing and ensuring compliance for project Quality Control Plans. This role includes direct oversight and review of the quality process, including project quality documentation and physical inspection of the work. This role will be based out of our Chicago office and may be assigned to one or more active Federal projects.
We are currently looking for a QCM for a project in Sparta, WI. The project in Fort McCoy is a $27mil Transient Training Barracks and involves construction of Army Housing and incorporating solar power solutions.

Your Roles and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Project Executive, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Develop and implement a comprehensive, project-specific Quality Control Plan
Possess extensive knowledge of Federal quality control programs and their requirements
Establish procedures to review and approve project processes including submittals, three phases of control, outside testing, and documenting and correcting deficiencies
Prepare and rollout closeout training and documentation procedure
Review and maintain quality documentation to ensure that all activities are completed in compliance with the contract requirements and all regulations, codes, and company procedures
Conduct QC meetings and prepare written meeting minutes
Supervise and direct on-site personnel and outside consultants involved in quality control work
Perform three phases of inspections for all definable features of work, including safety and hazard identification
Perform internal/external audits to ensure quality control plans are being implemented and maintained
Oversee resolution of all corrective measures required to correct nonconforming work
Support adherence to health and safety guidelines, as well as regulatory requirements
Work cooperatively with the Project Superintendent to balance production and quality objectives
Cultivate positive relationships with the key stakeholders, customers, designers, and subcontractors
Demonstrate professionalism in resolving issues/disputes and promote collaboration among team
Act in a manner that positions Blinderman as a preferred choice for future business opportunities with our clients
What You Offer
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Construction Management or similar field of study, or significant equivalent safety-related work experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant Quality Control experience required
Expertise in construction industry best practices, procedures, and concepts, as well as construction industry contracts and documentation
Army Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Management (CQM) course completion
OSHA 30 Hour for Construction course completion
Ability to obtain specialized certification or licensing dependent on Company and Project requirements
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
Work is performed at our corporate office, located in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood and at active construction sites across the US. Frequent travel up to 50%
Frequent walking, standing, use hands to handle equipment, talk, hear
Occasional sitting, reaching, climbing, kneeling
