Seeking a Data Scientist in Sugar Land, TX. This position is contract to hire and requires 2-3 days a week on-site.
What the Data Scientist, Business Intelligence Does Each Day:
Develop and manage operational processes across BI function (Project Delivery – Scope, Design, Delivery and Testing; BI Infrastructure – Enhancement, Monitoring and Maintenance; Support – User and technical)
Collaborate with key business users to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery
Translate business requirements to delivery team and ensure projects are delivered on time and meets business requirements
Design and implement BI Infrastructure and tools to support analytics needs of various functions within the organization
Identify opportunities across BI environment for enhancements including Infrastructure, Reports and Operational processes
Review code, Create prototypes, demo to executive management
Collaborate with other functional teams to ensure data integrity and data accuracy across systems and functions
Perform ad hoc data analysis and create concise reports based on business requirement

Minimum Requirements for this Role:
A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
Minimum 7 years of IT/BI experience and significant design and implementation experience with key BI and analytics concepts and technologies
At least 2 years of Data Science experience
Prior experience in managing BI teams (multi-site) and establishing maintenance and support processes.
Proficiency in statistical analysis, machine learning, and programming (e.g., Python, R)
Strong expertise in following tools and technologies:
Azure Cloud, Azure Data Factory, ODI, Azure Pipelines MS SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Synapse Tableau (or) Microsoft Power BI.
Azure, or BI training or certifications
Data Warehouse / Data mining experience
MS Excel and Power point
Strong communication skills with substantial senior management interactions
Able to successfully complete a drug and background check
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
