EHS Manager
Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager
Location: Chesterfield, Derbyshire – On-site

A leading provider in medical processing services is seeking a confident, proactive EHS Manager to take ownership of environment, health, safety and radiation compliance at their expanding site.
This is a highly visible and hands on role where you'll shape site culture, drive EHS strategy, and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and standards, including the site’s progression toward ISO 14001 certification. You’ll also step into the position of Radiation Safety Officer, with full training provided.

What You'll Be Doing
Lead Site-Wide EHS Performance
* Champion a safety-first culture across all site activities, shop floor to leadership
* Conduct site walkthroughs, lead safety committee meetings, and follow up on improvements
* Support incident investigation, trend analysis, and reporting to senior leadership
Own Compliance and Risk Management
* Ensure site adherence to UK environmental, health & safety legislation and internal policies
* Develop and maintain robust safety, environmental, and emergency procedures
* Conduct and oversee risk assessments, audits, and inspections
* Lead internal audit preparation and action planning for ISO standards
Radiation & Facility Oversight
* Act as Radiation Safety Officer (training will be provided in-house)
* Manage key facility contracts and coordinate site-based contractors and maintenance
* Work closely with external advisors, regulators and service providers
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves
* NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent H&S qualification)
* Experience with ISO 14001 / ISO 45001
* Proven EHS experience in a manufacturing, engineering or industrial setting
* Strong understanding of UK health, safety and environmental law
* Experience managing or influencing cross-functional teams and contractors
Nice-to-Haves
* Exposure to radiation, gamma, or nuclear safety environments
* Awareness of COMAH regulations (helpful but not essential)
* Strong facility, contractor and service vendor coordination skills
