CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Team in Blacksburg, VA. This is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience, support impactful environmental projects, and grow your expertise in a supportive, innovative environment.

What You'll Do::

  • Assist with the preparation of environmental documentation, mitigation plans, reporting, and permits for a variety of clients
  • Conduct field work, including field investigations, sampling, drilling oversight, and construction operation assistance
  • Collect, analyze, and report on geological, hydrological, biological, or other scientific conditions at project sites
  • Provide support to senior scientists and/or engineers to evaluate the potential impact of federal, state, and local environmental regulations

What You Bring::

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field required
  • No prior experience required; however, prior internship(s) and/or applicable coursework preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required; experience with ArcMap or basic GIS Mapping is a plus
  • Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective scientific discipline
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment with effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to work in the field under various weather conditions and physically navigate diverse environments

Salary Range::

$60,000 – $65,000

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
