Forensic Psychologist – HMP (Newly Qualified or Nearly Qualified)

Location: York
Salary: Circa £48,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Role Overview

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified or nearly qualified Forensic Psychologist to join the psychology team at HMP – York. This is an ideal role for someone starting their post-registration journey, offering a structured and supportive environment to develop your clinical skills in a secure setting.

Working closely with a Principal Psychologist, you will play an active role in delivering psychological services and contributing to the rehabilitation and wellbeing of the prison population.

Key Responsibilities

*

Deliver psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions

*

Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team

*

Support rehabilitation and resettlement programmes

*

Contribute to parole assessment processes and report writing

*

Assist in developing initiatives to reduce reoffending

*

Receive structured supervision and professional development

Requirements

*

HCPC registration as a Forensic Psychologist, or close to achieving registration

*

Strong interest in working within custodial or secure environments

*

Commitment to ethical, person-centred practice

*

Excellent communication and teamwork skills
