Lead Laboratory Operations in a Growing Analytical Environment

An established analytical laboratory is looking for a Laboratory Operations Manager to oversee daily laboratory operations and ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality analytical services.

In this role, you will take responsibility for coordinating laboratory workflows, managing resources, and supporting the team to consistently meet turnaround times while maintaining high analytical and quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced laboratory professional who enjoys improving operational efficiency, leading teams, and maintaining high-quality laboratory processes.

Key Responsibilities

You will play a central role in ensuring the laboratory operates smoothly and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing laboratory sample throughput and turnaround times

Planning and prioritising daily laboratory workloads

Ensuring analytical results meet ISO 17025:2017 quality standards

Promoting consistent use of approved analytical methods and quality control procedures

Supporting laboratory teams to maintain productivity and operational efficiency

Working with technical leadership on method development and process improvement

Managing relationships with laboratory vendors and service providers

What We're Looking For

You are an organised and proactive laboratory professional with the ability to coordinate people, processes, and resources in a fast-paced analytical environment.

You will likely have:

Laboratory experience

Experience with inorganic chemistry analysis

Strong organisational and planning skills

Experience coordinating laboratory workflows or teams

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Confidence using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
