Job Description The Staff Laboratory Technician provides critical support to the laboratory, including:
Receiving materials and supplies.
Receiving and processing samples.
Performing laboratory maintenance and calibration of standard equipment.
Cleaning and organizing the laboratory.
Collecting and preparing samples for analysis.
Laboratory Technicians are expected to assist Chemists and Microbiologists while performing various tasks essential to laboratory operations.

Ability to learn new tasks in a fast-paced environment and comply with quality standards to meet deadlines.
Basic knowledge of scientific principles and concepts, with strong mathematical and reasoning skills.
Self-motivated with effective time management and organizational abilities.
Beginner/intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret and follow instructions.
Attention to detail, excellent observation skills, and thorough documentation capabilities.
High level of integrity and self-motivation.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required.
College Degree preferred.
Higher-level technicians must have a combination of education and/or experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Receive and process samples and laboratory materials/supplies.
Perform sample preparation for various testing applications.
Collect environmental monitoring and water samples.
Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, APIs, and chemicals.
Perform general lab duties, including washing dishes, maintaining cleanliness of work areas, and organizing supplies and workbenches.
Document work and maintain detailed laboratory records in notebooks and controlled documentation (good documentation practices).
Conduct daily laboratory tasks such as monitoring incubator and refrigerator temperatures, humidity checks, and calibrating/verifying balances, pipettes, and pH meters.
Clean and record maintenance of eyewash stations in logbooks.
Transport and dispose of general laboratory trash, waste, and hazardous waste.
Assist with sample preparation for HPLC, UPLC, and other advanced analytical techniques.
Perform filter integrity testing.
Train in testing methods such as Dissolution, TLC, UV-Vis, Sub-visible Particulate, FTIR, Water Activity, pH, TLC, and Container Closure.
Assist in developing SOPs, STPs, and work instructions as assigned.
Communicate results with laboratory management and collaborate closely with the quality assurance department.
