Position Details:
Title: Laboratory Technician
Position Type: 1 year contract with additional opportunity contingent upon performance and continued business need
Job Location: Dayton, OH
Shift: 3rd shift and weekend work
Compensation: $28.50/HR
Responsibilities:
This position is performed according to established company procedures, policies, ISO requirements, and legal requirements. Everyday performance of duties in this position must be done in an ethical manner with safety and product integrity as the primary responsibilities.
The incumbent in this position is expected to perform in a team environment and be responsible for equipment, as well as, set up, operation, calibration (as required by method and instrument parameters), routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation. The position is 3rd shift and weekend work.
Analytical analyses are run to support Production, AML and Product Development Departments which include raw material, in-process, and finished-product testing. ICP-MS instrument experience is preferred- but not required.
Responsibilities also include reviewing and understanding analytical methods, MOCs standard operating procedures, and (SOPs) are required; and ensuring that all current procedures are followed, fully supporting our customers, and Production and Research Departments.
Each analyst must be skilled in the operation of the laboratory information management system (LIMS), as this is the tracking system used by the lab for all samples submitted.
More experienced analysts will also be required to train and mentor new or less-experienced analysts, as determined by the Analytical Lab Manager.
Qualifications:
With guidance from supervision, primary responsibility is to assist technical personnel in general laboratory operations and routine laboratory or information handling tasks in support of scientific research. Perform tasks according to accepted methods and training prescribed by the work group.
