Job Description:
Responsibilities:
Conducting greenhouse trials and lab assays including set-up, implementation, and assessment.
Treat plants by using a variety of equipment including track sprayers (requires the ability to wear respirators).
Carefully following established laboratory protocols and safety procedure.
Scheduling the use and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Maintaining compliance with requirements for the handling and disposal of plant and microbial materials.
Data collection, management, and quality assurance.
Required Qualifications:
B.A./B.S./associate s degree in plant biology, Soil Science, Microbiology, Biological Sciences, or a related area.
Experience conducting laboratory bioassays in an R&D setting.
Experience conducting greenhouse trials assessing plant growth and development.
Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
Self-motivated with strong organizational skills, detail-orientation, and a desire to work in a dynamic laboratory environment.
Experience with scientific record keeping and familiarity with common software applications.
Due to the nature of the job the candidate should be able to lift 50 pounds with assistance.
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years experience in a lab and/or greenhouse environment.
Experience conducting experiments involving agricultural biologicals in a lab and/or greenhouse environment.
Experience using track spraying equipment for foliar treatments.
Familiarity with lab equipment and data collection.
