We are currently looking for an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to add to the Hometown Veterinary Care of Byron Center team. The ideal candidate must have a good work ethic, be self-motivated and be a strong team player. We are a busy, growing clinic and we depend on our caring, compassionate and reliable staff to create a positive experience for our clients and patients.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Helping doctors with physical examinations
Assisting the receptionists
Client communication and education
Dispensing medications
Restrain patients
Helping position patients for radiographs
Provide nursing and comfort care for pets
Performing treatments, collecting samples (blood/urine/feces), and processing laboratory diagnostic tests.
Help to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the facility.
Requirements
Veterinary Technician licensure.
2+ years of veterinary experience required.
Must be able to lift 50lbs, bend/kneel throughout the day, and stand for extended periods of time.
Must be comfortable with proper restraint on dogs and cats.
Must be accountable, punctual and show up for work with a can-do, positive attitude.
Must have a passion for excellence in animal care.
Must have a flexible schedule with availability on weekends and some holidays.
Must be receptive to training with a positive team attitude.
