Located in southwest Houston, Beechnut Animal Clinic is proud to have provided state of the art veterinary medical care for over 40 years. We are a full-service animal hospital providing care to dogs and cats. We welcome both emergency treatment cases as well as pet patients in need of routine medical, surgical, and dental care. Overview:
Beechnut Animal Hospital is a quickly progressing hospital that is looking for the right person to help us achieve our vision. We want to be there for the first baby visit, the pesky Houston allergy flare ups, the complex diseases, the heart-stopping accidents, and final snuggles & nose boops for our patients and their pet parents. As a Credentialed Veterinary Technician you will play a critical role in helping us accomplish that vision.

Expected skill set:
Professional communication with clients and fellow teammates. Examples of tasks requiring this skill: obtaining & relay patient history, relaying patient orders, post-op discharges
Proper technique for venipuncture, centesis, cytologies, and sample handling for in house and reference lab testing
Diagnostic imaging:
Obtain prime digital radiographs with patient and team member safety as priority
Perform or assist with abdominal ultrasound or echocardigram with Oncura. Training for sonogrpahy available once criteria met
Fundamental skills to include: restraining patients, administering medications (PO/IV/SQ/IM), applying and maintaining bandages, husbandry, adequate record keeping
Procedural & surgical skills to include: induction/intubation, catheterization, anesthesia & sedation monitoring, proper sterile technique and patient prep, instrument care, dental prophylaxis and radiographs
Provide timely diagnostics & treatments for patients in hospital
Assess and maintain efficient work flow
Position Requirements:
Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) or the ability to transfer credentials from state to state.
Associates degree in Veterinary Technology
