TITLE: Market Automation and QA Contractor

ONSITE/REMOTE/HYBRID: Hybrid, onsite 2 times a week

SHIFT: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented, Market Automation and Quality Assurance Contractor to support the development and enhancement of tools and processes within Market Operations. In this role, you will identify manual workflows that can be automated, design and build efficient technical solutions, and ensure operational tools remain compliant with business and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate combines strong programming skills with the ability to collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, high-quality automation solutions.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Update and enhance existing market tools to reflect changing business requirements and regulatory obligations, maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation.
- Provide troubleshooting and technical support for automation tools and related applications.
- Analyze and evaluate current operational processes to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvement.
- Partner with IT teams and other internal stakeholders to design and deliver integrated, sustainable automation solutions.
- Design, develop, and implement automation tools and systems to support Market Operations activities.
- Research and assess emerging technologies for potential application in market automation and process optimization.
- Support the hardware and software needs of Market Operations and Market Design functions as new systems and improvements are deployed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent practical experience.
- 2–3 years of professional experience in software development, automation design, or systems support.
- Proficiency in .NET, C#, PL/SQL, and Windows Presentation Framework (WPF).
- Prior experience in energy market operations or a related technical environment is preferred.
- High attention to detail with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Strong grasp of object-oriented programming principles.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of formal change control and quality assurance processes.
- Experience with REST APIs, Python, SAS, VBA, and asynchronous programming.
- Familiarity with GitLab, Tableau, Windows Services, and SQL tuning.
- Exposure to data science, machine learning, or artificial intelligence concepts.
