We are seeking primarily Industry Professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate BSN nursing students on-site in Atlanta, GA.
Fundamentals of Microbiology with Lab (BIOS- 242)
We are currently seeking an onsite Microbiology Instructor for the July 2025 session at our Atlanta campus. This is an 8-week teaching assignment with in-person instruction required two days per week.
Course Details:
Schedule: 2 days per week (exact days TBD based on instructor availability)
Format: In-person instruction
Duration: 8 weeks, beginning in July 2025
Weekly Onsite Requirements:
One 3-hour lecture
One 3-hour lab
Two office hours
Available Teaching Hours:
Monday – Friday
7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible within this range)
This course covers basic concepts of microbiology, with emphasis on medically important microorganisms and infectious diseases. Also addressed are microscopy, microbial growth and genetics, antimicrobial agents, epidemiology and immune system responses to pathogens. Lab exercises focus on aseptic techniques, isolation and culture of microorganisms, microscopy and staining techniques.
Courses meet on campus twice a week, for eight week sessions. This face-to-face interaction is blended with technology (such as online discussions and assignments) for an enhanced learning environment. Commitment is on a course-by-course basis.
Responsibilities:
Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials.
Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
Completes other duties as assigned.
