Mixed Animal Veterinarian

Veterinarian – Mixed Animal. Central NSW. Australia. FT / PT, Supportive Team + New Hospital. From $75k DOE

If you’re looking for a role where you’re actually supported, where your work is appreciated, and where you still get to enjoy your life outside of the clinic, this could be the perfect fit.

We are working with a warm, down-to-earth mixed animal practice in Parkes, Central West NSW, and they are recruiting. Full-time or part-time, you choose. They’re far more interested in the right person than the hours you choose to work.

Why You’ll Love Working Here.

They are a small, close-knit team who genuinely look out for one another. Their approach is down-to-earth, collaborative, and kind; they share knowledge, check in with each other, and make the day enjoyable rather than stressful.

This place has a real ‘family feel’ about it, where everyone pulls together when there’s work, and relaxes when it’s time. Without the shackles of a large vet group, decisions can be made quickly, and ideas are encouraged.

They care for companion animals and local farm clients, and their caseload reflects a healthy balance of small animal medicine/surgery and general large animal ambulatory work. If you’re already comfortable across both, great. If you’re newer to mixed practice, you’ll have guidance and support, no one is thrown in the deep end here.

Their clients are loyal and reasonable, and the work is varied without being overwhelming. The after-hours component is genuinely light and shared fairly, with a vehicle provided for call-outs. This is a role where you can develop your skills, contribute meaningfully, and feel settled.

A kind empathetic vet is just as important as experience, so you’ll need to be friendly and professional with clients, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a supportive team. New graduates are very welcome to apply, they will mentor, encourage, and help you grow in confidence at a pace that suits you.

The role is Monday to Friday, and they currently do not open Saturday mornings, giving you your weekends to enjoy and explore.

What's on offer

* Brand new purpose-built hospital (opened April 2025)

* Supportive, welcoming team environment

* Digital X-ray, ultrasound, Zoetis in-house lab

* Vehicle supplied for call-outs

* Negotiable salary + on-call award rates + 50% professional fees

* Light after-hours requirements, shared fairly

About Parkes

Parkes is a relaxed, friendly regional town where life feels balanced and enjoyable. There are cosy cafés for weekend coffees, welcoming pubs for a Friday catch-up, and plenty of local events and community spirit.

When you feel like exploring further, Dubbo and Orange are just a short drive away for dining, wineries, shopping, and day trips. It’s the kind of place where you can genuinely settle in and feel at home.

So, what’s next?

If you’re ready to take your career somewhere new, somewhere with space, sunshine, and great opportunities, then pack your sense of adventure and make the central west your new home.

Send your CV, don’t worry if it’s not up to date. We can’t get the whole story in a job ad, so ask any questions. I’ll answer honestly, no hard sell.

Work with purpose, live with balance, and join a team that supports you every step of the way
