Part-Time & PRN positions available

Available shift times:

Day shift (6:00 am-10:00 am)

PM shift (2:15 pm-10:15 pm)

Generous shift differentials for evening and weekend shifts!

Must already be a CNA (If you currently don't have a CNA certification, you can become a CNA through Valley Senior Living and get paid to take the CNA Class)

On-the-job training to become a Medication Assistant

Required:

Certified within the state of ND as a Certified Nursing Assistant, or must have completed a ND state-approved training course and be certified as a CNA in North Dakota within 120 days of the date of hire.

Must receive mandatory training for Medication Assistant I certification and pass the test for the same.

Must receive mandatory CPR training, be certified within three months of hire, and maintain current certification.

A Personal Care Assistant (PCA/MA1) provides essential support to residents who require assistance with daily activities due to illness, disability, or the aging process. They help with tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Additionally, they may offer companionship, administer medication, and assist with daily activities. PCAs' role is to enhance the quality of life and independence of those they care for, often requiring empathy, patience, and a flexible approach to meet the varying needs of their clients.

Functions:

Understand and follow basic concepts of infection control, including the use of universal precautions. Consistently practices good hand hygiene techniques.

Encourage and support residents in making personal choices to accommodate individual needs and encourage independence. Encourage residents to function at the highest practicable level.

Assist resident as needed in all phases of activities of daily living: eating, drinking, oral hygiene, bathing, dressing, grooming, and using the restroom. Turn, reposition, and transfer the resident as indicated. Measure vital signs, weights, and Intake and Output accurately. Assess resident for condition changes (i.e.: difficulty breathing, break in skin) and report to Charge Nurse.

Communicate effectively with the resident and recognize behavior patterns and react in a calm, nonjudgmental manner. Encourage residents who choose to participate in the activities program.

Perform Range of Motion, transfers, and assist with ambulation following established procedures.

Medication assistance that is ordinarily self-administered under the direction and supervision of the Licensed Nurse (per ND Nurse Practice Act and agency policy).

Interact effectively with residents, visitors, and all members of the personal care team.
