  • This contract Process Development Scientist/Engineer position is in the Process Development and Technology department.
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for study execution at bench-scale and pilot-scale related to manufacturing support and process transfer projects.
  • Responsibilities include cGMP documentation, data review, and writing technical documents.
  • The incumbent will be expected to work effectively under general supervision and contribute to the team effort to support R&D projects.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • The individual will perform protein purification techniques including but not limited to precipitation, chromatography, ultrafiltration/diafiltration, and filtration.
  • The candidate will perform accurate technical/cGXP documentation of activities and analyze / interpret analytical results.
  • The candidate will need strong technical writing skill to author study protocols and reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and the ability to exercise good judgment.
  • Ability to work well both independently and under direct supervision with demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize tasks to meet targeted deadlines.
  • Must be proactive, results oriented, and have strong attention to detail.
  • Experience identifying and solving technical problem.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with personnel at all levels in a team environment.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • The candidate must have experience in protein purification techniques at bench-scale and/or pilot scale processes.
  • Degree must be within a relevant field: (Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Biology) Bachelors or Masters degree with 1 to 5 years of relevant experience. Directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements.
  • Work is performed in a laboratory and pilot-scale production environment.
  • Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms.
  • Exposure to electrical office equipment.
  • Exposure to chemicals.
  • Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves.
  • Frequently sits and bends neck for 4-6 hours per day.
  • May stand and twist neck for 2-4 hours per day. Occasionally walks, bends and twists waist and squats.
  • Moderate lifting of 25-50 lbs. May reach above and below shoulder height.
