FieldBridge seeks a Quality Inspector to work for one of the oldest and most iconic soft drink brands in the United States. This position is based in St. Louis, MO. Weekly pay + benefits.
Pay: $25-$29/hr DOE. M-F 1st shift + great opportunity for OT. At 50 hours per week and $29/hr, for example, earn weekly paychecks of $1,595 gross.
The QC Technician II performs analytical and sensory testing to ensure product quality, safety, and consistency, while providing secondary support for compliant shipment of small-quantity and R&D materials. This role operates primarily within the laboratory, maintaining accurate records, performing testing per specifications, and ensuring GMP and regulatory compliance across both QC and shipping functions.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare reagents and solutions; perform instrument calibrations and routine analytical testing (pH, acidity, density, Brix, particle size, absorbance/transmittance, assays).
• Conduct sensory evaluations of raw materials, in-process, and finished products to assess appearance, aroma, flavor, and mouthfeel.
• Verify product conformance to quality and food safety specifications, including recipe adherence, labeling, packaging, and fill weights.
• Record and review data in SAP and shared systems; ensure documentation accuracy, completeness, and traceability.
• Maintain retained samples for shelf-life studies, investigations, and reference purposes.
• Identify and report deviations, participate in root cause discussions, and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform basic microbiological and environmental monitoring (e.g., plating, air/water sampling, yeast and mold counts, sanitation verification).
• Support internal audits of production and storage areas; document findings and suggest improvements.
• Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and chemicals; ensure adequate stock for testing and shipping operations.
• Follow GMP, GLP, and safety procedures; ensure adherence to quality standards and documentation requirements.
• Prepare, package, and label hazardous and non-hazardous materials—including raw ingredients, concentrates, and extracts—for R&D shipments in compliance with DOT (49 CFR), IATA, and internal SOPs.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of all shipping documentation, including SDS, declarations, and tracking information.
• Maintain an organized inventory of UN-approved containers, labels, and shipping materials; assist in resolving any shipment or delivery issues.
• Coordinate with R&D, QC, and logistics teams to facilitate timely, compliant shipments.
Qualifications:
• Associate degree in a science-related field preferred; equivalent experience (3+ years in an analytical or quality laboratory) accepted.
• DOT and IATA certification preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Forklift certification a plus.
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation and SAP or equivalent data systems preferred.
• Familiarity with GMP documentation and hazardous materials handling.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic logistics or inventory software.
• Effective communication and teamwork across departments.
• Mathematical reasoning and analytical data interpretation.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods in a laboratory or production environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform sensory testing, which requires the ability smell and taste product for quality purposes.
