Quality Control Inspector

  • Pay Rate: $25.00 / Hour (USD)

Job Summary

This role supports quality control operations within a medical technology environment, performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections on chemicals, labeling, and components, while interacting daily with inspectors, production teams, and engineering. A typical day begins with a Tier 1 meeting to set priorities, followed by working off an inspection priority/aging report and updating the EBS system with daily transactions, with drawings accessed through Agile.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs Incoming Inspections on chemicals, labeling and components using equipment such as calipers, microscopes and go and no-go gauges.
  • Complete and or review Incoming, In-Process and Final Inspection documentation including Component Inspection Folders, checklist, release forms, calibration data records, etc.
  • Performs in-process and final inspections to support Manufacturing to include the use of pH meters, conductivity meters and spectrophotometers.
  • Issue Non-Conformance Reports; performs detailed review of device history record documentation as part of final inspection and or release activities for finished product.
  • Perform inspections as requested for Engineering and other departments including First Articles and or Courtesy inspections, and assist with the development of applicable inspection procedures, checklist, forms and Inspection Folders.
  • Maintain QC Activity Collection Plans and other applicable tracking logs.
  • Oversee and coordinates calibration activities for facility.
  • Gathering up and Shipping Equipment out to Calibration Suppliers.
  • Organizing on-site calibrations.
  • Notifies individuals and or departments when their equipment is due for calibration.
  • Initiating EIRs.
  • Reviews and or maintains calibration data records and certifications.
  • Data entry and equipment approvals in the Equipment Control System.
  • Performs weekly testing of the water systems.
  • Processes RMAs Disposition, disposal and documentation retention.
  • Orders lab supplies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Incoming inspection experience with the ability to read prints and drawings.
  • Ability to use height gauges, calipers, and surface plate.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft apps Excel and Word.
  • Ability to navigate EBS systems with data entry.

Preferred Skills

  • CMM or vision system skills.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Incoming Inspector utilizing height gauges, calipers, and surface plate inspections.
