Position Summary:
The Quality Engineer supports product and process quality through structured problem-solving, effective communication, and proactive collaboration with customers and internal teams. This role is key in maintaining compliance with industry standards and customer requirements, managing quality documentation, and driving continual improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary quality liaison with customers to address product issues, coordinate corrective actions, and ensure satisfaction.
- Lead and support quality meetings, internal reviews, and customer updates.
- Drive root cause analysis and implement practical corrective and preventive actions using 5-Why, Fishbone, and FMEA tools.
- Prepare and manage PPAP documentation, including control plans, process flow diagrams, and capability studies.
- Monitor and analyze process performance using Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct and participate in PFMEA reviews to mitigate potential risks in manufacturing processes.
- Manage quality-related projects independently, ensuring timely completion and alignment with organizational goals.
- Request engineering document changes.
- Review and validation of documented instructions.
- Use Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) to create reports, presentations, and process documents.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and other applicable standards.
- Must be able to Pass the DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
- Participate and support customer and regulatory audits.
- Must be able to Lift a Min of 25lbs
- Standing 50% of the time
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality engineering or manufacturing quality role.
- Working knowledge of PPAP, SPC, and PFMEA is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and can engage with internal teams and external customers.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- The speaking and understanding of the Spanish language is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and/or IATF 16949.
- Experience with ERP systems and quality software tools.
- CQE or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- FAA Repair Station is a Plus.
