The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Quality Engineer for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Whiteland, IN. Details for the position are as follows:
Pay Range: $35 – 45/hr depending on experience
W2 Contract: 1 year with possible extension and/or conversion
100% onsite in Whiteland, IN
Job Description:
- Apply the principles of product quality planning, evaluation, and control in support of the manufacturing and installation operations of the organization.
- Serve as primary contact for customers and freight forwarders for reporting of quality issues.
- Track and publish DPMO (Defects Per Million Opportunities) reports for shipping accuracy and quality defects.
- Manage the Customer Quality Scorecard for the distribution center.
- Ensure the 3PL partner’s accountability by driving problem solving, corrective actions for repeat and high-risk quality spills.
- Collaborate with 3PL partner on continuous improvement initiatives to reduce customer-facing quality issues.
- Coordinate between Central Customer Quality , onsite Cummins and 3PL teams in resolution of customer complaints containment activities.
- Collaborate with onsite supplier quality team for supplier quality spills reported by customers.
- Facilitate continuous improvement quality activities to reduce the potential for defects, and ensures continual improvement in process and product design.
- Participate in change management activities by verifying products and processes, developing key measures, analyzing data for decision support, and presenting results to site leadership.
- Lead audits of processes and quality systems. Serves as a quality technical resource to other functional areas.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5+ of relevant supplier quality / supply chain experience
