Quality Engineer Team Leader
Birmingham, AL- Charlotte, NC- Atlanta, Georgia (hybrid- onsite 3 days per week)
10- month contract to hire
Pay Rate: $80.00 – $85.00per hr.
Our client needs a seeking Quality Engineer Team Lead with experience in mobile testing, API testing, and automation frameworks. This role emphasizes native mobile applications (iOS and Android), test automation, performance testing, and enterprise integration testing. Candidates may come from either development or QA backgrounds but must demonstrate strong skills in automation-first quality engineering and a proven track record of building or scaling QA practices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and execute manual and automated test plans for mobile apps and APIs.
- Test native iOS and Android applications using XCUITest (iOS) and Espresso (Android).
- Test backend services in .NET and Java environments running on OpenShift.
- Conduct performance testing using LoadRunner.
- Expand automation coverage, converting manual tests into automated test scripts.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers in QA best practices and test automation.
- Contribute to integration and end-to-end testing across enterprise initiatives.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure high-quality releases.
Required Skills:
- Seven (7) years of experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Mobile Testing: Native iOS or Android testing experience (XCUITest / Espresso preferred).
- API & Backend Testing: .NET and Java API testing experience.
- Automation: Strong experience in test automation scripting, frameworks, and tools.
- Performance Testing: Familiarity with LoadRunner or equivalent tools.
- Core QA Knowledge: Unit, regression, integration, end-to-end, and performance testing.
- Preferred: Experience in regulated industries (banking, financial services, fintech).
Bonus Skills:
- Familiarity with service virtualization, mocking, and modern QA best practices.
- Experience leading or building QA teams.
- Cross-platform automation experience (e.g., Appium) is a plus but not required.
