JOB DESCRIPTION

Northrop Grumman is looking for a Quality Inspector 2 to support our Quality department. As a member of the Quality department, you'll get to support repair and manufacturing programs by ensuring products conform to engineering drawings, QMS requirements, and contractual specifications. This position will serve our facility in Oxnard CA.

SECOND SHIFT: 2:00 PM -11:30 PM

Responsibilities

Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products.

Perform required inspections (visual, dimensional, and functional, etc.) on spacecraft components.

Uses various measuring devices, such as caliper, micrometer, comparator, pin gages, and Coordinate Measuring Machine.

This job has decision-making responsibilities with regards to the acceptance or rejection of work and tests performed.

Inspects and performs tests on mechanical, electrical, or structural components and assemblies related to spacecraft components and sub-assemblies. Inspections vary from close tolerance dimensional checks to general surveillance of the work in progress.

Support Production Teams: Interface with manufacturing operations and engineering personnel to improve processes and documentation issues.

Document Non-conformances: Identify, document, and track non-conforming material, and assist in identifying root causes.

Perform Receiving Inspection: Inspect incoming purchased parts and materials against vendor certifications and engineering requirements.

Maintain Records: Maintain detailed inspection records, logs, and reports

Accepts, rejects, or reworks defective or malfunctioning units or systems.

Work from drawings, diagrams, customer specifications, and inspection instructions.

Basic Qualifications for Quality Inspector 2

High school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of additional education and/or direct experience in a quality assurance or inspection role.

Experience utilizing various measuring devices, such as caliper, micrometer, comparator, gages, pin gages, and other inspection tools.

Preferred Qualifications for Quality Inspector 2

Strong Computer skills

Ability to read and comprehend detail control plans, work instructions, drawings, Bill of Materials, Specifications and related criteria

Understanding of GD&T

Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to interface across the organization to achieve effective results

Experience working in a team environment to solve problems and balance workloads.

Experience with electronics workmanship standards such as IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 and other related specifications

Experience in Aerospace manufacturing, mechanical assemblies, and/or electronic assemblies.
