GENERAL DESCRIPTION – PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The Quality Inspector will play a key role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards before reaching our customers. The successful candidate will conduct thorough inspections, implement quality control measures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain and improve product quality. The Quality Inspector is expected to maintain quality standards by approving purchased, in-process production, and finished products, recording quality results. The Quality Inspector must ensure that parts are manufactured to engineering design specifications.
Essential Functions:
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Perform measurements of manufactured components to verify manufacturing specifications have been met.
· Inspect machined work pieces or product at machine stations or inspection area to ensure conformance to specifications.
· Measure dimensions such as angles, length, height, and distance between reference points using precision equipment such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and CMM to ensure product specifications.
· Approve incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
· Receiving of material from vendor and product when returned from outside processors.
· Record inspection results on appropriate forms, including discrepancy reports when needed.
· Review drawing details for accurate documentation of specifications.
· Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calling for repairs.

· High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification is a plus
· Five (5) + years of experience working in precision manufacturing environment
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
The successful candidate should:
· Possess an understanding of quality control methods, procedures, and processes to ensure products meet established standards.
· Show proficiency in using measurement tools and equipment for accurate inspections.
· Be able to maintain detailed and accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality related documentation.
· Have the ability to read blueprints and understand product specifications and requirements.
· Understand machine shop procedures, shop mathematics, and inspection techniques.
· Possess effective communication skills, both oral and written.
· Have the ability to measure close tolerances.
Education Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent is required

The environments range from cold and dry to hot and humid and may include work outdoors. Indoor work within the manufacturing plant is required. This environment will be noisy and may contain stimuli such as flashing lights and strong odors
