PGS Worldwide is currently hiring for a detailed Quality Inspector to join a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer in Oldsmar, FL. This is a 1-year contract-to-hire position operating on a 1st Shift schedule (Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM EST) with overtime available on weekends. We are looking for a specialist with specific experience in solder inspection and conformal coating verification to ensure mission-critical electronics meet IPC standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in visual inspection of solder connections OR 2 years of manufacturing/soldering experience with electronic assemblies.

  • Conformal Coating: Minimum 1 year of experience inspecting conformal coating.

  • IPC Standards: Must have prior experience working in accordance with IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 requirements.

  • Microscope Work: Must be able to work under a microscope for long periods (up to 10 hours) and sit at a workstation for extended durations.

  • Blueprint Reading: Proficient at interpreting drawings, diagrams, parts lists, and revision controls.

  • Measurement Tools: Experience using various measuring devices such as dial indicators, preset micrometers, and scales.

  • Communication: Must be able to interface effectively and diplomatically with all levels of manufacturing when addressing quality defects.

  • Language: Must be able to read and write English.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency with Personal Computers for data entry and reporting.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Job Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for the 100% visual inspection of circuit card assemblies (CCA) to ensure they meet manufacturing and industry specifications.

  • Visually inspect solder and conformal coating of circuit card assemblies using predetermined methods and prescribed specifications.

  • Utilize high-powered microscopes for extended periods to detect minute defects.

  • Verify products against drawings, written inspection instructions, and IPC reference documents.

  • Use precision measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy.

  • Identify and document non-conformances and work with the manufacturing team to address quality defects.
