Overview:
Astrion is seeking a Radar and Sensor Engineer/Scientist in support of Sensor Systems Engineering and Technical Support (SSETS) for Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) B Department.

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Electromagnetic and Sensor Systems Department (B) through their Advanced Sensor Systems Division B40 and Sensor Data Exploitation Division B60 support multiple Navy and Marine Corps Radar Systems. B40 provides Sensor Systems expertise across the entire acquisition Life-Cycle from concept exploration through sustainment of Navy and Marine Corps Radar Systems. B60 provides sensor data collection, exploitation, fusion, modeling, and concept exploration for translating data into strategic advantage.

Must be a US Citizen and hold a Secret Clearance. 

 

Education/Professional Certifications:

Must meet one or more of the following:

(a) A Bachelor’s degree from a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum in one of the following fields: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering

(b) A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics

(c) A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics

(d) A Ph.D. degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics.

 

General Sensor Engineering Experience:

General Experience is defined as radar/sensor experience since award of degree.

(a) Minimum ten (10) years since award of Bachelor’s degree

(b) Minimum eight (8) years since award of Master’s degree

(c) Minimum five (5) years since award of Ph.D. degree

 

Specialized Experience:

(a) Minimum of two (2) years of experience in complex radar system engineering, design,

analysis, or radar software development.

(b) Solid technical background as demonstrated by certifiable experience formulating opinions,

decisions and ultimate performance of the tasks specified in a contract statement of work.

(c) Demonstrated experience and ability to perform detailed and complex calculations and knowledge of practices/principles necessary to assess advanced sensor systems concepts, assess specifications and perform system integration.

 

Salary range- $100,000-$130,000
