You will work alongside board-certified veterinary surgeons, including one of only eighteen surgeons globally with fellowship status in Minimally Invasive Orthopedic Surgery and the only board-certified canine sports medicine specialist in the Kansas City area. The quality of medicine here is defined by specialization, research, and technical capability. We operate as the specialists of specialists, focused solely on orthopedics to provide the most consistent results. You will be actively involved in advanced procedures such as ACL TPLO, Arthroscopy, Patellar Luxation, Elbow and Hip Dysplasia repair, Fracture Repair, and Gait Analysis. Our surgeons have extensive training, including PhD research in canine hip replacement, and utilize state-of-the-art diagnostics and techniques like 3D printing and virtual surgery to plan and execute complex cases. This focus on advanced veterinary orthopedic services ensures that our patients and our referring community receive care that is truly world-class.

Your Impact as a Registered Veterinary Technician

Note: The Registered Veterinary Technician title is used in various states based on state-specific licensing and credentialing requirements. Responsibilities may vary depending on the hospital and/or state and will be outlined by the state’s Veterinary Practice Act and/or the responsible veterinarian, where applicable.

  • Utilize Your Full Skillset: You'll be a vital part of the medical team, providing comprehensive patient care, including administering treatments, monitoring anesthesia, and performing lab work.
  • Be a Leader and Mentor: You’ll guide and support the medical team, ensuring an efficient workflow while mentoring others to help them grow their skills and careers.
  • Partner with Clients: You'll be a key point of contact for pet owners, educating them on treatments, reviewing medical records, and confidently answering their questions.
  • Contribute to a Positive Culture: You'll play an active role in training, providing feedback, and maintaining the high standards of our hospital environment.

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • Obtaining radiographs and, in the future, running the CT machine
  • Running basic laboratory tests (complete blood counts and blood chemistry panels)
  • Pre, peri, and post operative care for surgical patients
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Maintaining surgical suite and equipment
  • Advanced role in patient care and client communication
  • Willingness to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members
  • Maintain reliable and predictable attendance
  • Perform other tasks assigned by management

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Veterinary Technician Certification required (RVT, CVT, or LVT credentials)
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and team members
  • Proficient time management, ability to problem solve, learn, and handle multiple tasks
  • Enthusiastic team player with a patient and positive professional attitude.
  • Must be able to work with and restrain pets of at least 50 pounds, and up to 125 lbs

with assistance, and work on feet most of the day.

  • Must be able to interact with and be around all pets that we provide care to
