Responsibilities:
Assist with a research project focused on understanding how blood vessels behave during infectious diseases. Basic duties will include working with mice, performing experiments (e.g., western blots, PCR, cell culture), preparing reagents, and analyzing data.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a biological science) or equivalent years of relevant laboratory experience. Eagerness to learn new concepts and develop expertise with new techniques.

 

Basic computer skills, including internet software and Microsoft Office software. Willingness to perform oral and written communication of science. Applicant needs to be organized, detail-oriented, and meet all deadlines. Professionalism and acceptance of diverse personalities and cultures are required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
Interest in cell and molecular biology, or related fields. Previous research experience working with mice, cell culture, tissue microscopy. 

Physical Demands:
Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or rodent dander. May work with toxic or caustic chemicals, radioactive materials, liquid nitrogen, human tissue, or blood. Potential risk of electrical shock. Occasional exposure to cold (4C) and/or extreme cold (-80C) temperatures from refrigerators and freezers. Noise level is usually moderate.

Work Hours:
Typically Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 5:00PM.
