Job Description:
- The Department of Structural Biology within Protein Sciences is a world-leading research and drug discovery organization focusing on cutting-edge biomedical questions.
- We are seeking a motivated scientist interested in using structural biology to understand the molecular mechanisms of large macromolecular complexes involved in DNA repair processes.
- The role involves protein purification, reconstitution, and structure determination of DNA-protein complexes using cryoEM.
- Additionally, you will help to develop functional biochemical assays to assess and determine the mechanism of action of various multi-subunit protein complexes.
- We are fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including cryo-electron microscopy (cryoEM) suite with two Titan Krios and two Glacios electron microscopes, among other tools essential for successful structural biology workflows.
- Bachelors with experience or recent master’s graduate with experience using 1 or more biochemical or biophysical assays (Spectrophotometric, Colormetric, BCA, Bradford, Lowry, Flurometric, Luciferase, ELISA, WB, SPR, DLS, DSC, XRD, etc.)
- Experience with cryoEM or mammalian cell culture functional assays is a plus!
Technical Information:
- 12-month contract with potential for extension or conversion
- Pay: $28-33 hourly, depending on experience level
- Onsite, M-F, 8am-5pm
