Role Summary:
R | V Tech’s Core Data Team is searching for a talented Decision Scientist or Senior Decision Scientist to join our growing data team and help shape the way we make strategic and operational decisions. As a Decision Scientist, you will be the bridge between data insights and business action, translating complex analyses into clear, compelling recommendations that drive meaningful impact across the company.
This team strives to deliver actionable recommendations, often from ambiguous or incomplete data. Our projects begin as question-first, data-driven investigations and frequently cut across domains and teams. We work “full stack” – building new pipelines, transformations, analyses or dashboards depending on the need.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of analytics, business strategy, and experimentation, with a passion for solving ambiguous problems, enabling others, and influencing key decisions through data.
Responsibilities:
Be a flashlight – partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities where data and modeling can drive better decisions, and frame problems in a structured, business-relevant, data-driven way.
Solve problems quickly, deliver early solutions, and iterate towards robust scalable solutions for projects with proven value.
Where necessary, design, build, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines and workflows that transform raw data into actionable insights using Python, SQL, & dbt.
Collaborate cross-functionally with executives, product managers, engineers, analysts, and operations to embed data-driven decision-making into daily workflows.
Communicate insights effectively through visualizations, dashboards, reports, and presentations tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Act as a mentor and thought leader for the R | V Tech’s data community – standard bearers of the best, most scalable, patterns for using our data platform.
