Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced environmental professional with a wetland ecology and natural resource management background. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Project management, technical leadership, and business development
- Desktop environmental reviews
- Field wetland delineations
- Preparing wetland mitigation plans and conducting annual wetland mitigation monitoring
- Performing threatened and endangered plant surveys
- Research and preparation of environmental assessments and other permitting documents
- Other technical duties may include regulatory agency and client interactions, construction monitoring, and post-construction compliance inspections.
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. in Botany, Soil Science, Plant Ecology, or similar discipline
- Certified Professional Wetland Scientist
- 8-10 years of experience conducting wetland delineations, demonstrated Section 404 permitting experience, and wetland mitigation
- Strong working knowledge of wetlands and aquatic resources of the Midwest, with an emphasis on northeastern Illinois, southeast Wisconsin, and northwest Indiana
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and produce high-quality work under tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience and knowledge of biological field surveys
Preferred Qualifications:
- M.S. in Botany, Soil Science, Plant Ecology, or similar discipline
- Knowledge of fish and aquatic macroinvertebrate populations and aquatic habitats
