Job Title: Senior Power Electronics Validation Engineer
Location: Moscow, Illinois (Relocation Required at Own Expense)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Power Electronics Validation Engineer to join our team in Moscow, IL. This role is primarily focused on validation tasks related to energy storage inverters, with opportunities to transition into PCB design and development. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in power electronics, particularly converters and inverters, along with a strong work ethic, fast learning ability, and hands-on experience in a lab environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct full-power validation testing of energy storage inverters.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) programs during development and validation stages.
Collaborate with lab technicians to configure and operate equipment, including DC power supplies, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and thermocouples.
Develop, manage, and modify test plans; ensure test procedures and data integrity meet internal and compliance standards.
Ensure compliance with EMI/EMC testing protocols and regulatory requirements.
Future responsibilities may include PCB layout, circuit design, and development of electronic modules.
Day-to-Day Activities:
Hands-on testing and validation of power electronics systems at full power.
Equipment setup, troubleshooting, and real-time data analysis.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of test results.
Gradually take ownership of test plans and validation processes.
Transition into design work upon system proficiency.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree acceptable with 8–10 years of relevant experience (7.5 years may be considered for high-potential candidates).
Experience:
Minimum of 4.5 to 6 years in power electronics validation preferred.
Senior-level experience (5–10 years) in converters, inverters, and energy storage systems is ideal.
Experience in EMI/EMC compliance testing.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong hands-on experience with DC-DC converters, inverters, and magnetic components.
Familiarity with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and EMI/EMC tools.
Understanding of compliance standards and test protocols.
