Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer – Electrical & Electronics
Location: Schenectady, NY
Duration: 12 Months
Hybrid Schedule:
- 2 days in office per week
Working Hours:
- Flexible hours depending on business needs
Travel:
- Domestic possible international, up to 50%

Role Summary/Purpose:
- Manage quality performance of assigned suppliers
- Responsible for product/part qualifications
- Track metrics & work on quality improvement plans
- Review & approve quality plans
- Investigate quality escapes for root cause analysis & corrective actions
- Mentor suppliers in quality requirements and tools
- Provide onsite support as needed
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
- Manage supplier qualifications ensuring product compliance
- Region Coverage – North Americas region, USA
- Own product/manufacturing process qualifications at suppliers
- Execute supplier evaluation process for new on-boarding
- Conduct surveillance audits for effective process control
- Facilitate serial production needs and product release
- Organize/perform inspections ensuring product quality compliance
- Support customer witness inspections like FAT and COP
- Witness testing at independent third-party laboratories
- Own SRG metrics and conduct audits as needed
- Collect supplier process data for CTQ characteristics
- Manage supplier non-conformance NCRs and Service Notices (SN)
- Perform robust Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to solve quality issues
- Coordinate with sourcing, Design Engineering & Materials and Process Engineering
- Drive consistency and adherence to quality procedures
- Provide technical guidance to suppliers
- Work closely with commercial, engineering, and manufacturing teams
- Provide Sourcing Quality input during product design reviews
- Develop supplier base and approve new suppliers
Qualification/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
- 8-12 Years industry experience in Electrical & Electronics Field
- 3 years experience in Supply Chain, Supplier Quality
- Strong background in engineering drawings/specifications
- Strong background in checking the PCBA quality
- Ability to trace and interpret wiring schematics and logic circuits
- Demonstrated technical aptitude and passion for quality
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Team player in cross-functional team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Project Management skills
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally at short notice
Desired Characteristics:
- Advanced Technical Degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering
- Knowledge and experience in the instrumentation field
- Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt certified or equivalent
- Well versed with industry technical standards
- Experience in Power Generation equipment manufacturing industry
- Field experience in Gas Turbine Power Plants
- Demonstrated proactive approach and issue ownership
- Highly self-motivated
