Veterinarian

Veterinarian (S/A or Mixed) – Award-Winning Practice, with Barossa Valley Living. From $120k

Most vet roles tell you what you’ll do. The best ones change how you feel while doing it. This is one of those.

Family-owned, award-winning, and deeply connected to its community, Barossa Vets is a mixed practice with a strong small-animal focus that has grown thoughtfully, not frantically, across three sites in Nuriootpa, Tanunda, and Kapunda. The team of 36 is known for patient advocacy, clinical standards, looking after one another properly, and keeping a sense of humour along the way.

This is a place where special interests are encouraged, surgery, imaging and dentistry are a genuine strengths, and vets are trusted with the time, support, and equipment to work cases up properly. Nurses are all qualified, registered, and committed to ongoing CE, backed by a dedicated customer care team, ensuring the people are also well cared for.

There’s a genuine ‘family feel’ here, where everyone pulls together when there’s work, and relaxes when it’s time. Decisions can be made quickly, and ideas are encouraged.

A few things that make this role different

* Four-day work weeks (or less) — flexibility is real here.

* Lots of dentistry and room to develop niche interests.

* Qualified, AVNAT-accredited nursing team who truly have your back.

* Membership-level vets & an AVA Chartered Vet leading clinical standards.

* Quarterly wellness days, EAP support, and paid personal development time.

* Fortnightly vet meetings, journal club, and the Barossa Vet Conference.

* After-hours, no more than 1 in 4, shared fairly.

* Branch clinics are for consults and minor procedures only.

* Hospital days mean multiple vets rostered (never flying solo)

So, what's in it for you?

* From $120k + super (2+ years’ experience)

* AVA membership, radiation licence, CE allowance & leave included.

* 4 weeks annual leave + 1 week CE leave.

* A brand-new, purpose-built hospital opening June 2026, designed around patient flow, client experience, and clinician sanity, with space for future growth (including CT)

Then there’s Barossa Valley

Australia’s premier playground, where "the office view" means rolling vineyards and native bush. Imagine trading the grind for cellar doors, great coffee, gin distilleries, world-class eateries, an excellent music event line up and the iconic Heysen Trail right in your backyard, not to mention, Australia’s best donuts! It’s the ultimate balance, perfectly peaceful, yet under an hour from Adelaide’s CBD and international airport for whenever the city calls. With beaches and the Murray River just a short drive away, this isn’t just a career move; it’s a permanent lifestyle upgrade.

So, what’s next?

This role suits a vet with at least two years’ experience, so if you’re looking for a role where your voice matters, your growth is encouraged, and your life outside work is just as important as the care you provide inside the clinic, BVS could be the move that changes everything.

Forget the polished application; just reach out with whatever version of your CV you have on hand. We want to know the person, not just the paperwork.
