Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Archaeologist II to join our growing Northern California Cultural Resources team in the Bay area. This hybrid opportunity will be based in our Oakland, CA office.
This position is a core member of the Cultural Resources Practice with responsibility for supporting all aspects of project implementation. This is a regular, full-time, salaried position that will report to a Cultural Resources Team Manager. This position may serve as a crew lead, based on work experience and education.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Completing fieldwork (survey, testing, data recovery, and monitoring), archival research, technical report writing, and data collection and compilation.
- Gathering data and other information to be used in the preparation of environmental reports.
- Working independently, part of a team, and under supervision of senior staff.
- Liaising and developing positive relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of state and federal environmental regulatory framework, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), National Historic Preservation Act, and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
- Ability to organize data in an efficient and clear manner.
- Drawing conclusions and making recommendations based on analysis.
- Flexibility and willingness to support multiple projects, including occasional travel.
- Being innovative and a problem solver.
- Handling multiple tasks and communicating priorities to manager.
