Our client is seeking a Quality Inspector II to perform dimensional inspections on machined components and assemblies. This role supports the quality management system through accurate measurement, documentation, nonconformance reporting, and supplier inspection activities. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with CMMs, Faro arms, optical comparators, and tight‑tolerance machine parts.
This position is suited for someone who is detail‑oriented, experienced with metrology tools, and comfortable interpreting complex engineering drawings.

Responsibilities:
- Mentor and support Quality Inspector I staff.
- Conduct source inspections at supplier facilities as needed.
- Generate inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and tight‑tolerance requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and quality system initiatives.
- Review supplier inspection reports, certifications, and material documentation.
- Maintain calibration records and ensure inspection tools are properly cared for.
- Perform dimensional and layout inspections on moderately complex machine components.
- Use advanced inspection tools including CMM, Faro Arm/portable CMM, and optical comparator.
- Create and manage nonconformance reports (NCRs) and support corrective action follow‑up.
Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to perform trigonometric and geometric calculations.
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.
- Hands‑on experience inspecting tight‑tolerance machined parts.
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 or similar quality management system.
- 2–5 years of experience in a Quality Inspector or dimensional inspection role.
- Proficiency with inspection tools: CMM, Faro Arm/portable CMM, optical comparator, micrometers, calipers, height gauges.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of non‑destructive testing practices.
- Ex‑military aircraft mechanic or Navy aviation background.
- Experience with reverse engineering or 3D measurement workflows.
- Background in turbomachinery, aerospace, defense, or precision machining.
- Familiarity with CMM software (e.g., PC‑DMIS, Calypso) or portable arm software (e.g., CAM2, PolyWorks)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- On‑site role in a manufacturing environment.
- Occasional travel (up to 5%) for supplier inspections.
- Ability to perform hands‑on inspection work and handle metal components.
- Pre‑employment drug/alcohol screening and background check required.
