JOB TITLE: Application Technology Lab Technician

DURATION: 12+ Months

LOCATION:9330 Zionsville Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46077

SHIFT: Monday Friday; 40hours week; 8:00AM 5:00PM

JOB SUMMARY:

The Application Technology R&D group has an immediate opening for an Application Technology laboratory technician. This position supports the development of all new crop protection products in our pipeline by conducting experiments to assess how products will perform when they get into the hands of our customers. This includes characterizing physical properties of formulated crop protection products, evaluating how products perform in lab-scale application tests designed to mimic equipment used in the field, evaluating material compatibility, and conducting studies to determine active ingredient delivery profile. The successful candidate will partner with Application scientist and engineer stakeholders to develop and execute lab-based experiments to generate data which will be used to support product development and product launch assessments. The ideal candidate will have excellent organization skills, ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, takes initiative to drive studies towards completion, and enjoys working in a lab-based team environment. This position is based in Indianapolis.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

* Initiation and execution of Application, material compatibility, and product characterization studies.
* Conduct high-throughput HPLC chemical assay studies.
* Conduct surface tensiometry and droplet characterization studies.
* Manage a wide variety of on-going studies.
* Partners with Application scientists to ensure studies are completed in a timely manner to support peer review deadlines.
* Conducts both physical and chemical characterization testing on formulated products as needed.
* Provide detailed observations for when conducting experiments and make suggestions for how experiments can be improved.
* Organizes and summarizes data across several on-going projects.
* Partners with analytical scientists for sample assay submission
* creates and updates SOPs for current and new methodologies and techniques.
* Champions safety and use of laboratory best practices

QUALIFICATIONS

* B.S./M.S. in chemistry, biology, or chemical engineering with 2-3 years experience
* Previous experience working in a chemical or physical testing lab environment.
* Previous experience testing formulated products.
* Analytical/HPLC experience is a plus
* Capable of acting and resolving issues independently. Performs duties with minimal supervision, actively demonstrates accountability by providing recommendations and or thorough analysis of options for issues/solutions.
* Proven track record of the ability to manage multiple on-going studies.
* Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset.
