L3Harris Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Sr. Scientist, Software Engineer – Cloud to join our team. This position will be based at our Salt Lake City-UT facility.

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Scientist, Software Engineer with a strong background in AWS Cloud, Software Engineering, Networking, Project Management, and DevSecOps. The ideal candidate will have deep understanding of software development life cycle, cloud-based computing, and secure coding practices. As a Sr. Scientist, Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying software applications in the AWS Cloud environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Systems Engineers, and other Software Engineers, to ensure that our software products meet customer requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop software applications using AWS Cloud technologies and best practices

Implement DevSecOps practices to ensure the security and compliance of our software products

Work closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and other Software Engineers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Lead technical projects from concept to delivery, including defining project scope, creating project plans, and managing project risks and issues

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of software products

Develop and maintain technical documentation and procedures related to software development

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and support to the team

Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in software engineering, cloud computing, and DevSecOps

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field

Minimum of 15 years of experience in software engineering and development, with at least 4 years of experience in AWS Cloud technologies

At least 10 years of experience with software development life cycle and project management methodologies

At least 10 years of hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and API Gateway

Minimum of 10 years of experience developing software applications with an object-oriented programming language

At least 7 years of experience with DevSecOps practices, including containerization, automation, and security testing

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
