Currently I have an opening for a Chemist I position located in Clark, NJ. Details for the position are as follows:
Pay: $25.74
Duration: 6 Months + potential extension
Job Description:
- Assisting in formula development of skincare and haircare products (creams, lotions, serums, toners, etc.) to bring to the market.
- Batch different formulation trials in the lab to evaluate texture, stability, aesthetics, performance on hair tresses.
- Set up and monitor stability to ensure highest quality of products. Check formula specs (color, odor appearance, viscosity, pH, Microscope) to ensure formula stability.
- Collaborate with support teams (analytical, microbiology, processing engineers, etc) to assist for formulation development and ensure quality of products.
- Able to multitask throughout the day to handle multiple different tasks of the formulation process as well as multiple projects at the same time.
Position requires a Bachelor's degree in science-related field, strong interest in the cosmetic industry, computer literacy, excellent communication skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, team-player and positive attitude, and intellectually curious to learn.
Familiarity with rheology is a plus.
* Under close supervision, completes tasks as directed. Adheres to set objectives and standards.
* Ordering raw materials, making batches and keeping track of experiments in lab notebook.
* Performs and tracks stability on all formulas made. Needs to be detailed-oriented.
* Open communication to bring to the attention of the chemists/manager of any stability issues.
* Interface with support groups for testing requests via IT system.
